Dr Miriam Manook is currently a less than full time Clinical Lecturer in Transplantation. As a surgeon-scientist her focus of interest is on expand the possible transplant options for sensitised patients. Here in Cambridge she is continuing to investigate the immunological challenges of antibody incompatible transplantation, and new ways to quantify the immunological risk of preformed humoral responses to a kidney allograft. She gained her PhD from King’s College, London, and took time out from her higher surgical training to pursue a post-doctoral fellowship in the Knechtle lab at Duke, NC which developed her passion to use translational science to solve real world problems.
