The Cambridge urology clinical trials team was initiated in 2011 with the primary goal of building up the local NIHR and commercial urology trials portfolio within the Department of Urology.
In 2014 the Cambridge Urology Translational Research and Clinical Trials (CUTRACT) office was established (Director: Vincent Gnanapragasam) with the aim of consolidating the diverse research undertaken in urology in Cambridge. CUTRACT is a standalone self-funded team and has brought in over £2.0M in external research funding since inception. It has recruited over 1600 patients into a diverse range of national portfolio and commercial studies.
CUTRACT has also initiated a number of investigator-led trials within the team in addition to this portfolio focusing on prostate cancer and midicl devices. To date CUTRACT has successfully led, conducted and completed 3 multi-center trials recruiting >700 patients. The CUTRACT team would be very pleased to hear from academic NIHR or commercial partners who would like to explore urological research trials in Cambridge.
